Emer Barry has an Honours degree in Music and Italian and a Masters in Music Performance from DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, Ireland. She has studied in London with English National Opera and the National Opera Studio.
Emer is in much demand as both a performer and recording artist at home and abroad. She tours the USA regularly and has been invited to perform in such prestigious venues as Steinert Hall, New York and the Ross Perot Science Museum, Dallas. In Ireland, she has joined both the RTE Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra on radio and in concert. In 2019 she was a guest soloist for RTE Lyric fms ‘The Full Score’ performing pieces by Ennio Morricone and John Williams. In 2020 she was invited to perform alongside international opera star Celine Byrne and the National Symphony Orchestra on the RTE One music feature ‘Shine’. She has headlined shows at all the major music festivals in Ireland and in 2019 she played the role of Audrey Hepburn in a sold-out show about the icons life in the National Concert Hall of Ireland and Castletown House.
Most recently she was invited to play the part of Kitty Keirnan in a concept album about the life of Irish political hero Michael Collins written by composer Mustafa Khetty. Her voice has also been featured in a number of video games, most recently Total War: Warhammer III by Creative Assembly.
In 2021 she was awarded The Agility Award by the Arts Council of Ireland to develop her song-writing. 2017 saw the release of her debut album Storyteller and she is currently recording her second album, which will include some of her original music alongside fellow performer and composer Mary McCague.
